Fashion Britain: Future Heritage Student Showcase – Newcastle
Grainger Market transforms into a catwalk for a landmark public fashion showcase, part of Fashion Britain, the British Fashion Council’s new programme celebrating creativity beyond London.
The show spotlights the winning designs from Future Heritage, Eldon Square’s 50th-anniversary initiative created with Newcastle College and Fenwick Newcastle, where 80 Newcastle College students created original fashion and textile designs inspired by the city’s heritage.
The garment-design winners see their work brought to life on the runway, joined by an exclusive catwalk show from award-winning Newcastle designer Lamin Gibba, a Newcastle College University Centre alumnus and founder of high-end streetwear label Jerry J Clothing. Newcastle is one of seven UK cities taking part in Fashion Britain’s nationwide programme of over 1,000 events this September.
