Kiln Pottery hosts Sculpt Your Partner, a fun, creative and slightly hilarious date night where you and your partner hand-build ceramic self-portraits, or rather, portraits of each other, creating a quirky, one-of-a-kind keepsake to laugh over forever.
No pottery experience is needed, with simple sculpting and plaque-building methods used to help capture your partner’s best features, or funniest quirks.
The 90-minute session starts with refreshments and a look at finished ceramic pieces for inspiration, before a demo of hand-building methods, then hands-on making time with the team on hand to help, offer tips or rescue any collapsing structures. Once finished, pieces are dried, glazed and kiln-fired, taking around six weeks before they’re ready to collect. Sessions run on Thursdays, Fridays and the occasional Saturday and Sunday, in small groups of up to 8, best suited to grown-ups and older teens.
