Tucked away in the heart of Bellingham, Northumberland, Grooms Bothy is a brand-new, characterful hideaway designed for rest, relaxation and reconnecting with nature. This intimate retreat blends traditional cottage charm with subtle modern luxury, creating a warm and timeless space that feels like a true home-from-home.
Perfect for two guests, the prize includes a two-night midweek stay (Monday to Thursday) inside their newly refurbished cottage. The cottage is dog-friendly, meaning your four-legged companion can join you on countryside walks and cosy nights by the fire.
Inside, enjoy a welcoming lounge with exposed wooden beams, a log burner and a Smart TV with Netflix included. A short set of stairs leads to a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, stocked with everyday essentials. Upstairs, the luxurious king-size bedroom features an indulgent in-room soaking bath, alongside a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower — ideal for unwinding after a day exploring Northumberland.
Just outside the door, you’ll find cosy pubs, independent coffee shops, scenic waterfalls and some of the region’s most beautiful countryside, making this the perfect base for a peaceful midweek escape.

- The prize is a two-night midweek stay for two people at Grooms Bothy, valid Monday to Thursday only.
- The stay must be taken between January and April, excluding 13th – 14th February and 3rd – 6th April, and is subject to availability.
- The prize is non-transferable and has no cash alternative.
- Travel is not included.
- One dog is welcome by prior arrangement.
- Due to internal stairs, the property is not suitable for wheelchair users.
- The winner must contact Northern Rural Retreats directly to arrange their booking.
