The North East knows how to do Bonfire Night right.
From beach-front displays and live music to family-friendly funfairs and glowing skies above historic landmarks, here’s where to catch the best fireworks across the region this November.

Sunderland Spooktacular – Barnes Park, Sunderland
Friday 31st October 2025, 4.30pm – 9.30pm
Start the fireworks season early with two dazzling displays in one night. Gates open at 4pm for rides, food stalls and live entertainment, followed by a low-noise “Spellbound” show at 6pm and a high-impact “Afterglow” finale at 8pm. Family-friendly and full of atmosphere, it’s one of the region’s biggest. Tickets from £6.
Blyth Fireworks – Mermaid Car Park, Blyth Seafront
Saturday 1st November 2025, from 4.00pm (fireworks at 7.00pm)
Blyth’s annual display draws huge crowds to the coast for family fun, fairground rides and a spectacular fireworks show over the sea. Gates open from 4pm, fireworks at 7pm. A must for those who like their bonfire night with salty air and seaside snacks.
Pyromusical – Kynren, Bishop Auckland
Saturday 1st November 2025, from 4.30pm
Kynren goes out with a bang, literally, with a 25-minute pyromusical that combines fireworks, fire pits, music and light. Set against the epic backdrop of the Kynren stage, it’s a cinematic, immersive show that’s a level above your usual bonfire night experience. Ticket booking is essential.
Blaydon RFC Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza – Swalwell
Saturday 1st November 2025, 3.00pm – 9.00pm
A Gateshead classic celebrating its 19th year, featuring a massive bonfire, funfair, street food and a pyromusical display at 7:15pm. Gates open from 3pm, with tickets available online only.
Gateshead Stadium Firework Frenzy – Gateshead
Saturday 1st November 2025, 5.00pm – 9.30pm
A brand-new addition for 2025, Gateshead Stadium hosts a large-scale firework display with live pre-show entertainment. Gates open at 5pm, fireworks start once darkness falls. Tickets from £5 make this a brilliant value city option.
Festival of Fireworks – Riverside Stadium, Chester-le-Street
Saturday 1st November 2025, from 4.30pm
Durham’s biggest bonfire night returns with a huge pyrotechnic show at the Riverside Stadium. Expect liver performers, entertainment, a funfair and food stalls, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display. Book tickets online.
Seaham Town Council Fireworks Display – Seaham Seafront
Sunday 2nd November 2025, starting at 6.30pm
Watch the reflections dance across the waves as fireworks light up Seaham’s seafront. With food stalls, rides and a soundtrack to match, this free event draws families from across the coast. Fireworks begin at 6:30pm — best viewed from the promenade or cliff-top paths.
Beamish Hall Fireworks Extravaganza – Beamish, Stanley
Sunday 2nd November – Wednesday 5th November 2025, from 6.00pm
Four nights of fireworks, food trucks and fairground fun in the grounds of the beautiful Beamish Hall Hotel. Displays start at 7:30pm each evening with entry from £44.95 per car. Hotel guests can watch from the terrace with mulled wine in hand.
Red Sky’s Fireworks Extravaganza – Ashbrooke Sports Club, Sunderland
Wednesday 5th November 2025, 4.00pm – 9.30pm
A Wearside favourite, complete with bonfire, DJ sets, street food and a grand fireworks finale at 8pm. VIP tickets include access to the indoor lounge, making it perfect for anyone who prefers watching the action without freezing toes.
Twice Brewed Inn Fireworks – Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland
Wednesday 5th November 2025, from 5.30pm
A celebration near Hadrian’s Wall, complete with bonfire, live music and hearty pub food. Grab a pint of local ale and enjoy a cosy, countryside display against the backdrop of one of England’s most historic landscapes.
Gosforth Fireworks Extravaganza – Newcastle
Saturday 8th November 2025, from 5.00pm
Newcastle Round Table’s annual display is back at Gosforth Racecourse, complete with food stalls, live entertainment and more than 120 effects per minute. Proceeds go to local charities, so you can feel good while watching the sky explode in colour. Ticket booking essential.
Alnwick Round Table Fireworks – Greensfield Sports Bar, Alnwick
Saturday 8th November 2025, from 6.30pm
A community favourite with family-friendly pricing (£6 adults, £4 kids), this event includes food stalls and fireworks from 7:30pm. Simple, traditional and full of charm and community, everything you want from Bonfire Night.
